The Challenge
A domestic homeowner needed to replace an old 2,500L (600-gallon) oil tank with a modern, space-saving solution. However, the site presented a significant access challenge: the only entry point to the installation area was over a 1,200mm high boundary wall, making standard delivery and maneuvering difficult.
The Solution
To navigate the restricted boundary wall without requiring heavy lifting machinery, the customer constructed a temporary timber ramp and landing platform fitted with guide rails on the delivery side.
Using this setup, the 1,200L FirePro® tank was safely slid across the top of the wall and manually lowered into position onto its newly prepared base. The entire installation and connection were completed within a single day, seamlessly sitting alongside the legacy tank ahead of its scheduled removal.
By selecting an integrally fire-rated FirePro® tank, the homeowner was able to position the new unit close to existing boundaries and structures, as close as 300mm, while remaining fully compliant with UK Building Regulations.

Key Installation Takeaways
Access Navigation: Custom temporary ramping allowed smooth positioning over a 1.2m wall.
Speed of Siting: Full positioning, base placement, and plumbing connection completed within 24 hours.
Boundary Flexibility: Integrated fire protection allowed close placement near site structures where standard tanks would fail clearance rules.
