Tuffa Tanks James London Marathon

We are delighted and proud to announce that Tuffa UK General Manager, James Shenton, completed Sunday’s Virgin Money London Marathon to raise money for Sense and ‘Audrinas fight against Neuroblastoma’.

The Virgin Money London Marathon started in Blackheath with the 26.2 mile course around the River Thames taking in Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf, before finishing on The Mall at St James’ Park.

After a gruelling 12 week training programme, James ran the Marathon in an impressive 4 hours 7 minutes. In the process he managed to raise almost £2000 for Sense, the charity supporting deafblind children and their families and £1500 towards ‘Audrinas fight against Neuroblastoma’ for a beautiful 4 year old girl who has high risk neuroblastoma and has been battling this disease since July 2018.

A tired but happy James described his feelings on completing the course. “You can do all the training you want, but nothing quite prepares you for running the London Marathon. It’s an incredible experience to take part in an event with thousands of other runners that is watched all over the world.”

Sunday’s London Marathon fundraising broke through the £1 billion mark and James’s was thrilled to raise a combined effort in excess of £3,000 for charities Sense and ‘Audrinas fight against Neuroblastoma’. “I really wanted to help a children’s charity and I would like to thank all my brilliant sponsors who donated and supported me. You guys gave me the determination to keep going and your generosity will make a real difference to both Audrina and deafblind children and their families,” he said. “I am also grateful to the support of my training partners, Jon and Josh who helped me to prepare for the race, and would like to thank my incredible family and partner for their unwavering support and encouragement. I couldn’t have done it without you,” he said.

Congratulations and well done, James.  We’re all very proud of you and you’ve certainly proved that you’re Tuffa than the rest!
