This month we welcome three new members to our production team on our roto-moulding oven.
As demand for our plastic oil tanks has grown, we are now running our plastic oven 24 hours a day and at weekends. To meet this extra demand, we have invested in new team members to keep our oven fully operational around the clock. Here’s your chance to get to know them.

Dave Jones
Uttoxeter born Dave Jones joins the Tuffa team after over 18 years as a steel building erector, followed by a brief stint as a security guard at a local supermarket. He brings a wealth of practical experience and is also a keen DIY enthusiast.
Outside work Dave enjoys clay pigeon shooting and carp fishing. He’s landed a monster 46lb fish in France, with his biggest UK catch an impressive 36lb carp from Branston Water near Burton-on-Trent.
Dave is enjoying life at Tuffa and is pleased to be back in the manufacturing industry. “I get a real buzz from working the big oven,” he said. “They’re a great bunch of lads to work with and the office staff have been fantastic with me too,” he added.

Jack Speake
25 year old Jack, also from Uttoxeter comes to us after working at a local joinery firm. In his previous job, he was involved in the construction of timber greenhouses, sun lounges and sheds.
Jack loves all kinds of music and is never happier than when he’s at a festival. In the last couple of years he’s been to music festivals all over the country, including the local events at Why Not? and Download.
Jack has settled in quickly and told us: “I’m enjoying the job and have been made to feel really welcome at Tuffa. I particularly like seeing the large 15,000 and 20,000 litre plastic tanks being made.”

George Bird
Another new member of our team lovin’ the oven is 20 year old George from Stowe-by-Chartley. Originally from Lichfield, George began his working life in the family firm, a vehicle repair centre in the West Midlands. He worked in all aspects of the business from panel beating to administration work in the office. Since then he worked for a Hixon based firm manufacturing sanding blocks.
Away from work, George has a busy social life and enjoys nothing more than an evening in one of the local pubs, having a beer and a laugh with his mates.
George is happy in his new role and is keen to develop his skills and experience at Tuffa. “I’m a fast learner and I can’t wait to learn more about the production processes of the Tuffa Tanks, ” he said.
