Important Compliance & Sign-Off Notice:

Tuffa FirePro® tanks are not OFTEC approved, but are fully compliant with UK Building Regulations. Your sign-off pathway must be confirmed prior to installation:

Stroma Building Control: Submit application 7 days before installation.
Competent Person Scheme: Self-certification via registered engineers (e.g., APHC).
Local Authority: Certification via a standard Building Notice.

Tuffa’s bunded kerosene tanks are built with an inner primary tank and an outer bund to provide integral secondary containment, protecting against leaks, spillages, and overfilling.

The integrally fire-rated system meets the functional requirements of Building Regulations and is fully compliant with the latest fire protection requirements for domestic and commercial heating oil storage.

who can install and certify a fire rated oil tank?

Tuffa has partnered with the national building control company Stroma, enabling our FirePro® fire-rated oil tanks to be signed off remotely through a simple and efficient process. Learn more in our detailed Guide to FirePro sign-off.

Alternatively, installation and certification can be carried out by a member of the APHC Competent Persons Scheme, as APHC-registered installers are able to self-certify the tanks they install in line with Building Regulations. Find an APHC installer here.

We work with a wide network of trusted installers across the UK, including both APHC-registered professionals and other experienced, reliable installers familiar with FirePro® systems.
