Our tanks are the toughest tanks on the market.
A water tank with the capacity to hold 1,400 litres costs anything from around £350. However, plastic water tanks can reach a capacity of around 20,000 litres costing approximately £2,000 for the tank.
The lifespan of plastic water tanks depends upon the quality of the tank and the condition it’s kept in. Our water tanks are expected to last a minimum of 20 years when kept in good condition. However, we have customers still using water tanks we manufactured over 30 years ago.
Large quantities of water can be stored in plastic water tanks with a capacity from 1,350 to 20,000 litres. To reduce stagnation water should be stored out of direct sunlight and below 20°C. Where possible this water should be refreshed regularly. Calmed inlets can also be used to reduce stagnation.
Potable water tanks are manufactured from WRAS-approved materials suitable for storing safe drinking water. Non-potable water tanks are designed for general water storage, rainwater harvesting, irrigation, washdown, or waste water containment where human drinking water compliance is not required.
Yes. Our heavy-duty polyethylene tanks can be configured for waste water, process water, and agricultural run-off. Because waste water applications vary depending on chemical composition, temperature, and secondary containment (bunded) needs, we recommend contacting our technical sales team directly to ensure your tank is specified correctly.
Yes. While our individual single-unit plastic water tanks hold up to 20,000 litres, multiple tanks can be joined together using our heavy-duty tank linking kits (available in 1″, 2″, 3″, or 4″ connections) to achieve virtually unlimited site storage.
Yes. All Tuffa plastic water storage tanks are rotomoulded using high-grade, UV-stabilised, 100% recyclable polyethylene. This protects the structure against sun degradation, cracking, and weathering during long-term outdoor exposure.
Standard plastic water tanks come with a screened vent, an inspection hatch, and a BSP female bottom outlet. Outlets can be customised or enlarged upon request, and we offer a range of optional equipment including 1″ ball float valves, pumps, and rainwater harvesting kits.
Yes. Plastic water tanks must be installed on a smooth, level, and fully supporting concrete base capable of bearing the full weight of the filled tank (1,000 litres of water equals approximately 1 tonne in weight).
